Ultimate Bolivian Salt Flat Experience

This tour includes visits to: Oruro, Jirira, Uyuni Salt Flat, Incahuasi Island (Fish Island) and more. Every day mixes breathtaking scenery with technical riding: high-altitude asphalt passes, salt flat navigation, and demanding off-road sections.

Level: HARD – ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS. Off-road sectors include gravel, hard pack, and salt terrain. Guided tour with guide on his own motorbike.

Suggestions: comfortable clothes, extra money, sunglasses, camera and sunblock. The motorbikes have SOAT personal insurance against accidents in Bolivia. For experience we recommend you personal insurance against accidents from your country because it works much better than our local insurance SOAT.

Tour Essentials

Detailed Itinerary – 5 Days of Pure Adventure

Day 1 – La Paz - Oruro
4 HRS, (270 km) 100% asphalt. The first day we have a very short and smooth management of four hours starting around 11:00 am, having lunch on the way.

Day 2 – Oruro - Jirira
ORURO-JIRIRA (6 HRS) (245 km). This day we touched 50% asphalt and 50% land road. The journey is going Challapata - Garcia Mendoza and reaching the shores of the Salar on the slopes of volcano Tunupa. DINNER AND BREAKFAST INCLUDED.

Day 3 – Jirira - Salt Flats - Incahuasi Island - Uyuni city
6 hours ride, approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles). During the trip we cross the Salar de Uyuni making a stop 1 hour in the Fish Island (Incahuasi Island) with its giant cacti (cereus Pilões selcianus) and a fantastic view of the Salar. At night we stay in the Uyuni Hotel. DINNER AND BREAKFAST INCLUDED.

Day 4 – Uyuni - Oruro
Seven hours ride, approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles).

Day 5 – Oruro - La Paz
On this last part of the journey we shall ride on a paved highway crossing the immense high plateau of the Altiplano until arriving to La Paz City where the tour ends at our place in the afternoon. Hotel not included.
